Caring for Pull-Up Leather
These shoes are made from pull-up leather—a traditional oil-infused leather that develops character with wear. When you bend or press the leather, you'll notice it lightens slightly, then returns to its rich cognac tone.
What You'll Notice
Small scratches and scuffs will appear. This is normal. Often they'll disappear when you rub the leather with your thumb—the oils redistribute and the mark fades. Deeper scuffs can be minimized with conditioning. Over time, high-wear areas will develop a patina that tells the story of where you've been.
This living quality is exactly what makes these shoes rewarding to own.
Recommended Routine
Brush after each wear
A quick brush with horsehair removes dust and keeps the leather breathing. Thirty seconds is all it takes.
Condition every few months
Pull-up leather already contains natural oils, so it doesn't need constant attention. When the leather feels dry to touch or looks less supple, apply a neutral cream or wax with a soft cloth. Massage it in gently, let it rest for ten minutes, then buff with your horsehair brush. The leather will darken slightly at first, then settle back to its original cognac depth.
Water happens
If your shoes get wet, let them dry naturally at room temperature—never near heat. Stuff them loosely with newspaper if they're soaked through. The pull-up oils protect the leather better than you'd think.
Products you need: A horsehair brush and a tin of neutral leather cream. That's it.
The leather wants to be worn. The more you wear them, the better they become.
