01The House
What is Timothée Paris?
Timothée Paris is an independent Paris shoe brand founded in 2017 by designer Hata, who spent many years designing at a historic French shoe house. We make elegant, comfortable, modern shoes for people who walk: refined yet relaxed footwear designed to be worn all day, offering a level of sophistication that sports sneakers cannot match.
Where does the name Timothée Paris come from?
The name comes from the street in front of our Paris atelier, where a mother can often be heard calling back her mischievous little boy: “Timothée!” Timothée is a child who follows his curiosity wherever it leads. We wish to be like him: a flâneur, someone who walks the city without a destination and enjoys the walk itself.
What does Timothée Paris mean by luxury?
For Timothée Paris, luxury is not defined by rarity or price. It is a sense of connection: to a place, to a community, to oneself. It is the moment you put on a pair of shoes and feel they were prepared just for you.
Why do Timothée Paris shoes carry no visible logo?
We do not wish our customers to become the brand’s billboard. Our shoes speak through comfort, proportion, and line rather than a logo. It is enough that the wearer feels at ease and sure of themselves.
02Craftsmanship
Where are Timothée Paris shoes made?
Timothée Paris shoes are made by family-owned factories passed down through generations, located in the green countryside near Porto, Portugal. Each pair is crafted largely by hand to ensure exceptional comfort in every step.
How did Timothée Paris choose its factories?
Before deciding, we tested factories across Europe, including Italy, France, and Spain. The family workshops we work with today proved to be the ideal partners to bring our designs to life through their technical skill, care, and collaborative spirit. We keep this circle small on purpose.
Are Timothée Paris shoes made by hand?
Yes. Our shoes rely on manual processes by experienced artisans. Because the majority of our shoes are made from full-grain leather, every hide features natural, individual variations in grain and tone. Our craftsmen carefully tailor their treatment of each shoe to match the specific character of the raw leather.
What materials are Timothée Paris shoes made from?
Our shoes are made from carefully selected, ethically sourced leathers from top European tanneries, primarily in Italy. Depending on the model, we work with smooth pull-up leather, supple baby calf, pebbled calf, goat nappa, and soft goat or lamb suede.
Where does Timothée Paris draw its inspiration from?
Shoemaking begins with a question rather than a silhouette: who will wear these shoes, and where? A street corner in the south of France, an airport, an office in Tokyo. Hata designs as if dressing a person they have actually met.
03Fit and Care
How do Timothée Paris shoes fit, and which size should I choose?
Timothée Paris shoes follow a standard fit. Men’s sizes run from 39 to 47 and women’s from 35 to 41 (European sizing). We recommend choosing your usual size. If you are between sizes or unsure, write to Contact@timotheeparis.com with the model that interests you and the sizes you typically wear, and we will advise you personally. For deliveries within the European Union, your first size exchange includes a free prepaid return label.
Can I walk all day in Timothée Paris shoes?
Comfort is the reason the brand exists. Our shoes are designed for people who walk through the city and want to remain elegant while doing so. As with any quality leather shoe, we recommend wearing a new pair for shorter periods at first to let the leather adapt to your foot.
How should I care for my leather shoes?
Wear each pair no more than every other day so the leather can rest and dry fully. After wearing, insert shoe trees and brush off dust with a soft horsehair brush. Every few weeks, apply a neutral or matching leather cream sparingly with a soft cloth. Let the shoes dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sunlight, and store them in the dust bag provided. For suede, use a specialized suede brush rather than cream.
What should I do if my shoes get wet?
Wipe off any water with a soft cloth, stuff the shoes with paper to absorb interior moisture, and insert shoe trees once they are no longer soaking. Leave them to dry slowly at room temperature—never next to a heat source. Once dry, apply leather cream to restore the leather.
Can Timothée Paris repair or resole my shoes?
At this time, we cannot accept direct repairs, though we hope to offer an in-house repair service in the future. In the meantime, we recommend bringing your shoes to a trusted local cobbler for resoling and repairs.
