Timothée Paris meets Pierre Lassalle

Question from Jean-Philippe : pick one photograph and explain why?

This is the latest I liked on Instagram @skiegraphicstudio. Link to the photo. I love the mystery, the long perceptiveness, the dense fog blending with the dark, night colours and flashes of Neon. This pensive looking man standing by the vintage car looking into the far distance what could be a door to another dimension or time. I like how it gives you a sense of nostalgia…I mean, I pretty much love all of it and the fact that you can’t be sure if it’s a photo or painting.

Q1) How did you start your day today?

You won’t be jealous for sure.

I woke up in a good mood, called the SNCF booking service (our train company here in France) as I had to change my train ticket for the Christmas holidays. After a long, arduous 36 min conversation with this kind man, I was told I couldn’t change the ticket due to web offer I received, so that was that… Next, I ordered my lunch on Ubereats, which never turned up as the restaurant I ordered it from closed early, but of course I was still charged. So began another long call to complain which didn’t go anywhere so had to annoyingly write an email. In the end I ate at 3pm. And ...  I’ll spare you the afternoon:)

Q2) Do you have any morning rituals?

Like so many others I’ve been working from home during quarantine. I wake at 9 am, put my sports gear on, grab a coffee and join my friends on ‘House party’ for a 30 minutes somnolent workout!

Q3) What music did you choose to listen to today?

Max Ritcher’s ‘release radar’ playlist, it’s an artist that I just can’t get bored of. You can listen to it in just about every activity you can think of. Like, trying to fall asleep, waking up, overcoming a hangover, concerts and even cleaning! It’s endless!

Q4) What was the last thing that made you happy ?

I guess It was a simple Sunday "rendez-vous" with friends after a wild 10 hour party! No effort required, just turned up. Music was playing, snacks were flowing everywhere, madeleines, pies, juices, basically every comforting food you could think of. Then played board games, something we always do but this was the best played by far. It was ‘Simple’ happiness.

Q5) Where is the best place you've travelled to and why?

That’s a tough one, the more the merrier, It’s between two places. The first I would say ‘South Boa Vista’ (Cape Verde) and the second, Koh Rong Sanloem Island, in Cambodia. The views were just breathtaking, have a look on google!

In South Boa Vista you have nothing but impressive, striking mountains, stunning waterfalls, literally no construction and no people. Just you, wild goats and endless walks on beaches as far as the eye can see.

As for Koh Rong Sanloem, even though it’s slightly more populated it’s still paradise. There’s long, crisp, white beaches with sand so fine you could make milkshake! Crystal clear waters with submerged hammocks, and most importantly friends.

Q6) What's your current obsession?

After remembering such memories from Cambodia and Cape Verde, I feel like holidays could be a new obsession. A little tricky to organize in today’s circumstances…Otherwise, getting a dog! Do you know any good rescue centers?

Q7) Who would be your ideal dinner guest and why?

Probably someone from the future to talk about all the craziness that’s happening in the world today! Finding out how they ended or what would be next. I’m not sure what the relevance of this would be or if anything good would come from this dinner but I guess it’s more out of curiosity.

Q8) What is your ideal holiday?

Anywhere where there’s Sun, laughter, great food, new cultures to soak up and extraordinary landscapes. But as long it’s with my boyfriend or my friends where you can enjoy life, love and be loved.

Q9) What life skills are rarely taught but extremely useful?

Open-mindedness, I guess. To me, a lot of people still follow a unique life pattern or feel happy about it. For example, being good at school, go to college, make as much money as possible, get married, have children, buy a house, get a good pension… a pattern in standards, without anything unexpected. It’s sad in my view, even scary. If we were told to accept other’s choices that give them happiness or have wider empathy for other cultures other than our own, diversity wouldn’t be frightening, extreme division wouldn’t exist, or there would be less of it. Serious words!

Q10) One word to describe yourself?

Outgoing Or chilled. Or both.

Q11) Which question do you want to ask the next person?

If you were one of Harry Potter's characters, which one would you be? And Why ?
